General idea for sides a, b and c. I'm going to start with background of text collage. Then work my drawings into the stenciled layers. I will continue the text and stencil layers onto sides d, e, and f, but not incorporate the drawing.
We wanted the cubes to project out from the wall at various levels, so we cutout triangular sections from the cubes in order to mount them flush to the wall. We haven't decide if we want to incorporate the pyramids into our final display on the PlantZero wall. The pyramid is cut from sides d, e, and f. If we use the pyramids I will continue the text and stencils from sides d, e, f. I had to make this Photoshop diagram in order to visualize how my cube would look from different angles on the wall at PlantZero. Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to put on my cube and how/if I'm going to integrate the different angles of the cube into my design.
I am currently involved in a group art project to benefit ArtSpace Gallery called ArtRoulette. ArtRoulette is comprised of 25 groups with 4 artist each. The groups were selected at random last Friday and are given about a month to develop a work or group of works that will be raffled off on Friday, October 24th. The works will be displayed at Plant Zero. If you would like to know more specific information about the rules, dates, times and other artist involved use the link posted above.
My Group Group #14: Tara Morand, Aimee Joyaux, Megan Mattax, Jere Kittle We have decided to create a series cubes that project out from our space on the Plant Zero wall. We are using the common thread of music and language throughout. We are each focusing on a season. I've been struggling with how my 2D imagery will fit onto the 3D surface. This is the documentation of my struggle. |
